On 27 August 2026, students from MTM5001 visited PSA Horizons and Innovation Centre for an engaging industry learning experience, gaining first-hand insights into Singapore’s port operations and the evolving maritime landscape.

A key highlight of the visit was a guest lecture by Mr Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, who shared his perspectives on developments shaping the maritime industry and the future of ports. This year marks the sixth consecutive year that Mr Ong has delivered a guest lecture to our MTM students, reflecting his longstanding and unwavering support for the Master of Science (Maritime Technology and Management) programme.

Students also heard from Ms Crystal Peh, AVP, Group HR, PSA International, who introduced the career and internship opportunities available at PSA.

From PSA Horizons, students enjoyed a bird’s-eye view of the Singapore Port, offering an impressive perspective of port operations in action. They also toured the PSA Innovation Gallery, where they learned about PSA’s innovation and sustainability initiatives, and experienced a virtual tour of Tuas Port.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world industry developments and deepen their understanding of how innovation, sustainability and technology are shaping the future of maritime transport.
