ELIGIBILITY AND TEAMS

Open to currently enrolled students in schools listed in List A and B.

Teams may include students from different schools or education levels within the same category.

Hackathon categories:

Category A: Up to University Level (Schools listed in List A and B)

Category B: Up to Pre-University Level (Schools listed in List B)

Each team must have 2–4 members and appoint one Team Leader for official communications.

All team members must complete and submit the Indication of Interest form individually.

Team names must be in English only — no symbols or explicit language.

The organisers reserve the right to reject or request a change to any name deemed inappropriate.

If duplicate team names are submitted, the first team to register will retain the name; others will be asked to select a new one. Subsequent teams will be required to choose a different name.
REGISTRATION

Stage 1: Indication of Interest
- We encourage all participants to complete this form by 10 November 2025 (Friday), 23:59 SGT to receive early updates and information.
- The form will remain open until 28 November 2025 (Friday), 23:59 SGT for additional submissions.
- Participants may register individually or as part of a team.
- Individuals who register without a team will have the opportunity to form teams during the in-person session on 17 January 2026.

Each participant must complete and submit the Indication of Interest form individually.

Submission of the Indication of Interest form does not guarantee participation in the hackathon until formal registration is completed.

Stage 2: Formal Registration

The Formal Registration period will be held from 17 to 19 January 2026 and is mandatory to confirm participation.

Registration will close on 19 January 2026 at 23:59 hrs (SGT).

By this stage, all participants must be part of a team consisting of 2–4 members.

Team members must provide accurate and consistent information across all submissions.

Teams formed during the in-person session on 17 January 2026 must complete their formal registration by the stated deadline to be eligible for participation.

Registration is free of charge, but spaces are limited and subject to confirmation by the organisers.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP)
- All submissions must be the original work of the participants.
- Ownership of any IP created during the hackathon is retained jointly by the participants and the organisers.
- By participating, participants grant the organisers and partners the right to use submission materials (including code, presentations, and media created during the event) for promotional, educational, or showcase purposes.
- Notwithstanding the above, ownership of all IP rights to and in any and all data and information provided by the organisers shall remain vested solely in the organisers and their licensors. Use of such data and information outside of Maritime Hackathon 2026 is not permitted without prior written approval.
- Participants must agree to the IP terms during the submission process.
CONFIDENTIALITY
- Participants must not disclose proprietary or confidential information during or after the hackathon.
- Any data provided by the organisers or partners for use during the hackathon is to be treated as confidential and must not be shared or used outside the event.
CODE OF CONDUCT
- Participants must adhere to a high standard of conduct, including respect, integrity, and professionalism.
- Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the event.
PRIZES
- Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for other goods or services.
- The distribution of cash prizes among team members is the responsibility of the team leader. The organisers are not liable for disputes regarding prize division.
- Winners will be contacted by the organisers after the event.
DISQUALIFICATION
The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any team or participant who:
- Violates these Terms & Conditions.
- Engages in plagiarism, misrepresentation, or unethical conduct.
- Fails to comply with confidentiality or IP requirements.
LIABILITY
- Participants are responsible for any damage or loss of equipment or data that may occur during the hackathon.
- The organisers shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during or as a result of participation.
- The organisers reserve the right to pursue legal action against any participant breaching obligations related to IP or confidentiality.
AMENDMENTS
- The organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any updates will be reflected on the official event page.
