Scenario Planning and Digital Disruptions in Maritime
The 3rd MADE Workshop, held on 5 September 2024, brought together foresight experts and industry leaders to explore the diverse applications of scenario planning across various sectors, with a special focus on the maritime industry. This workshop provided valuable insights into the importance of creating realistic, futuristic scenarios to anticipate disruptions and embrace digital transformations in maritime and beyond.
Session 2: MADE Workshop (Open to Public)
The students attended the second half of the workshop, focusing on discussions on Energy Transition in the Maritime Sector, by Dr. Ir. Jeroen Pruyn, Associate Professor from Delft University of Technology, Identification and Classification of Maritime Zones of Interest by Dr Omar Boucelma, Professor from Aix-Marseille University, scenario planning approaches by Dr Rafael Ramirez, Professor of Practice from the University of Oxford, and a scenario modelling platform presented by Mr Sean Ng, Research Assistant from Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions, aimed at accelerating nature-based carbon projects.
With its comprehensive focus on future planning, digital skills, and sustainability, the 3rd MADE Workshop provided attendees with practical strategies to apply scenario thinking in their own industries.
